About 2PSquared

Assistive technology professionals (ATPs) are service providers who analyze the technology needs of people with disabilities and help them select and use adaptive devices. These professionals work with clients of all ages with every type of cognitive, physical, and sensory disability.

ATPs are essential members of the 2psquared team, helping us to achieve our vision of a world where everyone has the opportunity to participate fully in society, regardless of their disability. ATPs work with our clients to identify their individual needs and match them with the appropriate assistive technology. They provide training and support to our clients on how to use their assistive technology. ATPs advocate for our clients’ rights and ensure that they have access to the assistive technology they need.

ATPs are passionate about helping people with disabilities live more independent and fulfilling lives. They are essential to creating a more inclusive and accessible world for people with disabilities. We are committed to supporting ATPs in their work and helping to make assistive technology more accessible to everyone.

Certification Process

The initials ATP refer to a person who has earned national certification from the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. This professional organization promotes the health and well-being of people with disabilities through technology.

Certification helps ensure a person’s qualifications and knowledge. It also ensures that professionals attain a common level of competence in helping people with disabilities use technology more effectively, notes RESNA.

Many employers now require ATP certification and pay more to professionals who earn it. An ATP can practice in any state, so long as they maintain certification through professional development and ongoing training, which is especially important in this rapidly changing industry.
